Layout

This apartment is part of a modern complex (built in 1991, and fully renovated in 2017); A common entrance with bells and postboxes invites you to walk down to the parking or up via stairs or take the elevator. Once you arrive at the fourth floor, a short walk over the gallery leads to the apartment.

Fourth floor

The front door opens up to the entrance and dining area. The open kitchen, equipped with various built-in appliances (SMEG), forms one side of the slender, part of the ‘hourglass-shaped’ layout. The other is occupied by the stairs to the fifth floor. Passing the kitchen, stairs, and separate bathroom, you open the modern glass doors to the living room. This entire floor has a cast floor with underfloor heating.

Fifth floor

Using the stairs, you reach the upper hallway, which offers access to the first bedroom with a spacious balcony, the second bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink, the washing closet with room for a washer and dryer and the second bedroom. Or you could take the next stairs to the roof terrace. This entire floor has a wooden floor with underfloor heating.

Sixth floor/Roof terrace

The door of the closed hallway opens to the (slender) middle of the roof terrace that extends over the full length and width of the apartment to both sides. This makes for a unique ‘double’ terrace, overlooking this fascinating part of Amsterdam. And the communal courtyard. The roof terrace boasts a wooden deck, as well as an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, and incredible views from Westerpark and city center.

The Seller’s Words

After nearly 6 years in the apartment and our first real home together, it is a bittersweet feeling to be moving on.

The memories we have accumulated over the years will certainly be present for the rest of our lives. From enjoying barbecues and pic nics in the communal garden, to lazy afternoons tanning in the roof terrace, the apartment and area comes to life in spring and summer. During winter and autumn the large windows and well insulated apartment makes it for a well light and cozy vibe, and you can still enjoy the famous Dutch weather.

We not only enjoy the apartment but also the neighbourhood, Westerpark has become our back yard, for morning walks, lunch dates and evening drinks. It truly has so much to offer in terms of nature, entertainment and community.

Our first pet joined us in the early days of the apartment and now our first daughter was born just in time to still enjoy the space and layout of the house.

While leaving the apartment might feel bittersweet, we know that it will be put to good use and enjoyed by the next couple or young family that comes along.
